Foundations of Navi

Foundations of Navi introduces students to the world of the Nevi’im — the books of the Prophets — through historical context, textual study, and thematic exploration. Students examine major biblical figures, prophetic leadership, moral challenges, national struggles, and the enduring relationship between the Jewish people and God. The course explores key narratives and personalities from books such as Yehoshua, Shoftim, Shmuel, and Melachim, while highlighting the ethical lessons and spiritual insights woven throughout the text. Students learn how prophecy functioned within Jewish history and how the messages of the Prophets continue to remain deeply relevant today. Designed to build both textual familiarity and deeper appreciation, Foundations of Navi encourages critical thinking, discussion, and meaningful engagement with one of the most influential sections of Tanach.
